What is a Unicode SMS?

Typically an SMS text message contains up to 160 characters from the GSM alphabet. This alphabet knows all latin characters, digits and a few special characters.
Languages such as Chinese, Cyrillic, Arabic or Thai contain characters outside this alphabet and must be sent using the Unicode standard. Unicode can represent any character in the world but takes more space within the SMS text. As such Unicode messages are limited to 70 characters.
My-Cool-SMS fully supports Unicode messages and can send long Unicode messages up to 335 characters.
